What a wonderful end to the season for Surrey Park Junior Football Club.  To have five teams make the Grand Final and then for every one of those teams to achieve this ultimate success is simply fantastic. The final scores were:

I would like to commend everybody – coaches, players and other key personnel on a job well done and I hope you are still enjoying the accolades that you justifiably deserve.  Also thank you to the many supporters - it was great to see so many Surrey Park people at games during the finals season supporting other teams – what a great community we have at our Club.

I would also like to thank the Surrey Park Junior Football Club as a whole for the way they conducted themselves throughout the season, there is nothing better, as President, to receive positive feedback from outside our Club on what a great Club we have here at Surrey Park.

A lot of people have dedicated an enormous amount of time and effort throughout the season to enable our children to play junior football at Surrey Park and to those people – thank you. 

I would also like to personally thank our Committee this year for their dedication, support, time and effort to put 220 children on the field every week.  A lot of this work goes unrecognized but without them, we would not be the Club we are.  Great work everybody.

Player Recruitment

What better time is there to try and attract new players to Surrey Park.......so don't forget that any current player who can bring a new player on board for 2012 will receive a free Panthers sports bag!!......and if you bring a 2 nd player across, we'll put a Panthers Hoody in the sports bag!

So work on your school friends, talk up the success at Surrey, and get them to have a look at Surrey Park for their footy in 2012.

YJFL's Best & Fairest Vote Count

Congratulations to all the winners and vote getters of the YJFL's B&F.  Special mention goes to the following place getters, well done boys:

Zac Clarke from Surrey Park

Last week I mentioned that as part of Zac Clarke being nominated as NAB Rising Star in Round 20, the NAB presented Surrey Park with a new bag of footballs, some training equipment, bags etc.  In addition to this I received a call last week to let me know we would also be receiving a $1,000 – great phone call to receive! We will be putting that money to good use and will be looking at buying new training equipment for next year.
